Description

Building upon the original, award winning DREAM, the DREAM Carbon Tour is an all new ski, with big versatility. The rock solid, vertically laminated hardwood core is meticulously crafted from the perfect blend of native North American white ash (for a damp, stable ride) and Rocky Mountain aspen (for a light, poppy, responsive feel). The DREAM Carbon Tour has a slight amount of traditional camber under foot for precise turn initiation, and progressive rocker in the tip to keep the skis on top of the powder, and 280mm of tip taper to provide effortless tracking in even the deepest conditions. The Wide Weave Carbon Fiber TM construction not only shaves off over one pound per pair from previous models, but the full carbon layup also provides maximum torsional rigidity and precise edge control on even the steepest lines. A kevlar shield above and below the core protects the ski from rock impacts, and insures superior binding retention. Designed by shaper Casey Day, and crafted by master ski builders high in the mountains of Colorado, the Powder Factory difference is apparent in every element of the skis design, quality, and performance.

I took these skis out to demo them on Shit for Brains Couloir. The skis were very easy to tour on. The shape of the tip kept them floating in the powder and were just super fun. The softer tip allowed me to really get up on the tips when making tight turns and the stiff tail made gives the ski a felling of control when jump turning that you do not get with a lot of skis. The stiff tail also kept them from washing out when I opened them up on the apron. Overall an incredibly versatile ski that handles all types of snow exceptionally well.

  2. 2019 Gear Guide – Ski Test

“Very stable at speed and great stomping pads for big airs,” one tester commented. Another agreed, noting its qualities as a “big, damp ski that plows through the powder, chop, and all variable conditions.” – BACKCOUNTRY MAGAZINE
